From Scratch

From Scratch is a research project intended to grow enough wheat for one loaf of bread. The project explores the relationship between the past and the present, focusing on traditional trades farming, milling and baking, fundamental to collective human experience, community and ritual.

These tools, and the portable wheat field expose underlying socio-political anxiety and contemporary concerns. the result of a series of time-based experiments to counteract the alienation and explore how histories speak of the present.
